Presentata la corsa a Palazzo Mantica con il team Acciona ospite d'onore.
Pordenone, 10 giugno 2017_ Presentato oggi a palazzo Montereale Mantica l’Italian Baja 2017, sesta tappa della Coppa del Mondo FIA Cross Country Rallies. La gara si svolgerà da venerdì 16 a domenica 18 giugno sui greti dei fiumi Cosa e Tagliamento, tra i comuni di Spilimbergo, San Giorgio Richinvelda, Arzene-Valvasone, San Martino e San Vito al Tagliamento.
Concorrenti da 4 continenti e 21 nazioni daranno vita a una sfida su fuoristrada che quest’anno ha ottenuto il record assoluto di iscritti in Italia, 74 auto, ma è un dato straordinario guardando anche al resto del mondo, dove persino il “gigante” Dakar ha dovuto registrare un brusco calo di partecipanti.
Novità più importante di Italian Baja 2017 la partecipazione del veicolo elettrico Acciona 100 per cento EcoPowered, al debutto assoluto in Europa. A guidare il propotipo spagnolo sarà Andrea Mayer Peterhansel, moglie del formidabile Stephane che ha vinto 13 Dakar, con la francese Emma Clair nel ruolo di navigatrice.
La corsa prenderà il via venerdì 16 giugno alle ore 16:55 con la super special stage di 19,81 km denominata “Memorial Azzaretti” in zona Valvadrom. Poi la carovana dei mezzi giungerà in piazza XX Settembre a Pordenone per la suggestiva cerimonia di scelta delle prime dieci posizioni della ripartenza di sabato (ore 19). Tutte le macchine sfileranno quindi contromano su Riviera del Pordenone chiusa al traffico normale durante la “Festa del Nonsel” per rientrare in Fiera, sede del quartiere generale della competizione.
Sabato 17 giugno sono previsti tre giri sul settore “Cantina” di 91 km da Domanins al Valvadrom. In serata controllo di passaggio in piazza a Zoppola” e in piazza a Pordenone. Domenica 18 giugno la seconda e conclusiva tappa con due giri sul settore selettivo “Valvadrom” di 86 km dal Valvadrom al Raiscedo Jump.

Pordenone, June 10th 2017_ Palazzo Montereale Mantica hosted today the presentation of the Italian Baja 2017, the sixth leg of the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies. The race will take place from Friday, June 16th,until Sunday, June 18th, along the Cosa and Tagliamento riverbeds, developing among the surroundings of Spilimbergo, San Giorgio Richinvelda, Arzene-Valvasone, San Martino and San Vito al Tagliamento.
Challengers will come from 4 continents and 21 nations to participate in this off road race, which this year absolutely got the records of entries in Italy, 74 cars; it represents an extraordinary result also looking at the rest of the World, where even the “giant” Dakar had to lose a lot of participants.
The most important news of the Italian Baja 2017 are the participation of the electric vehicle Acciona 100% EcoPowered, with its absolute debut in Europa. The Spanish prototype will be driven by Andrea Mayer Peterhansel, the wife of the formidable Stephane who won 13 Dakar, together with the French Emma Clair as co-pilot.
The race will start on Friday, June 16th, at 4:55pm with the Super Special Stage of 19,81 km called “Memorial Azzaretti” in the Valvadrom area. Then the convoy of vehicles will reach the square piazza XX Settembre in Pordenone for taking part in the suggestive ceremony of choice of the first ten re-start positions of Saturday (at 7pm). All vehicles will offer a parade driving against traffic flow along the Riviera del Pordenone, already close to the normal traffic thanks to the local festival “Festa del Nonsel”, coming then back to the Fair, Head Quarter of the competition.
Saturday, June 17th three laps along the 91 km sector “Cantina” from Domanins to Valvadrom. In the evening, passage control in the squares of Zoppola” and Pordenone. Sunday, June 18th the second and final leg through two laps on the Selective Sector “Valvadrom” of 86 km from Valvadrom to the Rauscedo Jump.
