Showa conferma la partnership tecnica anche per la stagione agonistica 2018 con AfricaTwin Rally Team. Tra le più importanti industrie nel settore della componentistica per l’automotive e nel settore delle due ruote, Showa ha costruito una solida reputazione come fornitore OEM (ovvero di primo equipaggiamento) di sospensioni e ammortizzatori di sterzo per i più noti costruttori motociclistici al mondo. L’azienda conta ben 12,819 addetti globali, 22 siti produttivi, di cui 4 in Giappone, e 8 centri di R&D suddivisi tra Giappone -3-, USA -2-, Thailandia, Cina ed Europa (Germania nei pressi di Francoforte). La partnership tra Showa Corporation e Africa Twin Rally Team sarà centrata sullo sviluppo delle forcelle anteriori e sospensioni mono-posteriori da utilizzare con set-up specifici sulla Africa Twin Rally di Alessandro Ruoso che a poco più di un mese dall’incidente dell’Hellas Rally, ritorna in moto con un breve test condotto con i tecnici Red Moto che hanno installato le nuove sospensioni fornite dalla Giapponese Showa che avranno, una nuovissima idraulica, studiata appositamente per l’Africa Twin Rally. A breve Alessandro Ruoso coadiuvato dai tecnici Red Moto condurrà un test più completo per trovare il migliore setup per le gare Africane. Contestualmente si proverà un nuovo serbatoio da 30 litri che avrà la capacità di poter effettuare le lunghe prove speciali Africane. Il rientro alle gare da parte di Alessandro Ruoso e la sua Africa Twin Rally è previsto per la prima settima di Settembre con il Panafrica.

"Nonostante tutto sono molto soddisfatto. Finalmente ad un mese dall’operazione sono tornato in moto, anche se la gamba è ancora molto sotto tono per la consistente perdita di tonicità. Ho ripreso da poco gli allenamenti sotto carico e al momento sto portando al termine un ciclo di fisioterapia con uno specialista Spagnolo che mi sta seguendo nel recupero con nuovi metodi di allenamento che prevedono nuoto e sessioni di potenziamento in palestra. Nel breve test che abbiamo condotto con i tecnici Red Moto ho avuto il piacere di testare le nuove sospensioni Showa, trovandomi a mio agio immediatamente. Il lavoro fatto è straordinario da parte dei tecnici RedMoto. Entro fine mese, faremo un test più accurato per trovare il setup più idoneo alle mie caratteristiche di guida. Contestualmente i tecnici stanno completando la nuova configurazione dei serbatoi, che sarà pronta per il test di fine Luglio. Attività a pieno regime quindi per il rientro alle gare che avverrà in Marocco con il Panafrica".

Despite everything I am very satisfied. Finally, a month after the surgery I returned to the bike, even though my leg is still very subdued due to the consistent loss of tone. I recently resumed the workouts under load and at the moment I'm completing a cycle of physiotherapy with a Spanish specialist who is following me in the recovery with new training methods that include swimming and strengthening sessions in the gym. On the day of testing we conducted with RedMoto technicians I had the pleasure of testing the new Showa spring suspensions, finding myself at ease immediately. By the end of the month, we will do a more accurate test to find the setup most suited to my driving characteristics. At the same time the technicians are completing the new tank configuration, which will be ready for the end of July test.
